Yoga is the new revolution in the fitness industry which has taken the entire world by storm. Previously it was believed that yoga is meant for those that are old or have opted for sainthood. But of late, the young generation has also found a permanent place in yoga. The power and importance of yoga have been noticed and shared all across the globe.

The five yoga poses for a healthy body and mind are as following:
  


             Cobra Pose:
This yoga pose helps to firm the buttocks and also tone the abs. To assume this pose, you need to lie down on your stomach facing the floor. Then place your palms beside your chest, upon the floor. Later, lift the chest from the floor. Then, bend it backward up to where you can and look upwards. Remain in this pose for five full breaths and then return to the original position.
 Wind-Releasing Pose:
Also known as the Pawanmuktasana, this yoga pose helps to lose excess fat in the abdominal region. To assume this pose, lift up the right leg at a 90-degree angle. Then fold it and press your stomach by applying pressure on the folded leg. Hold it down with both the hands to press it. Later, release and repeat the asana with the left leg. This pose can also be practiced by bending both the legs simultaneously.
           Bow Pose:
Also known as the Dhanurasana, this yoga pose is one of the best yoga exercise to keep you fit & healthy. It tones the legs and arms by making you lose extra fat. To assume this pose, you will have to lie down first on your belly facing the floor. Then bend your knees and lift your legs up from behind. Then arch your body back and try to grab your legs with your hands. Remain in this position for four breaths and then release and relax.
Side Stretch Pose:
This yoga asana helps to increase the heart rate, burns the calories and also helps to reduce fat on the sides. To assume this pose, stand upright upon the floor, maintaining a straight pose. Then place your hands on the side of the body, keeping your palms down.
Then lift your hands straight up, stretching them upwards. Later, bend on your right, stretching your right hand to the right side above your head. Repeat the same on the left side. Each side should take five breath counts. Then relax and come back to the original position.
Warrior Pose:
     Also known as the Virabhadrasana, this yoga pose helps to reduce weight and tones the abs, arms, and thighs. It also helps to increase the capacity of the lungs. To assume the pose, stand straight on the floor and spread the legs as far apart as you are comfortable.
  1. Then turn the right leg and the left leg towards your right side. Later, raise your arms over the head and then stretch them. Then join the palms together as in a prayer position and look upwards and relax. Hold the pose for five breaths and then relax.
